The COS logo contains a globe surrounded by electrons, inscribed in a gear and laurel leaves. The globe symbolizes the College and its vision/mission to be of global standards in the new millennium. The electrons orbiting the globe represent the five departments under the college—the Allied Sciences, the Biological Sciences, the Information, Communication and Technology , the Mathematics and the Physical Sciences Departments. They also signify the four areas of concern of the College -Curriculum and Instruction, Research, Extension Service and Productivity. Likewise, they illustrate the four pillars of the educational system—curriculum, faculty, students and the support units. The order in the orbital motion of the electrons symbolizes unity, cooperation and harmonious relationship among the four departments. The symbol Σ∫ denotes the summation of all the integrated activities within each department towards the success of the college. The gear suggests dynamism and the promise of year round motion towards the fulfillment of the mission of the college. The laurel leaves signifies excellence. The formation of these leaves suggests that the College is within the cradle of the Philippine Normal University and should direct all of its efforts in accordance with the University's concept of an excellent teacher training institution.
